Jorge, Graciosa, Faial and S. Miguel.\u00a0 Outside the Region, the Orchestra has performed in the cities of Funchal and Lisbon.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>In 2015 the Angrajazz Orchestra participated in the cultural program \u201cLisboa na Rua\u201d as part of the cycle \u201cThe Art of the Big Band \u2013 5 Jazz Orchestras\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>At the 18\u00ba Angrajazz, the Orchestra performed, for the first time in Portugal, the integral of \u201cThe Far East Suite\u201d written by the great jazz musician Duke Ellington.\u00a0 In that occasion the Orchestra featured two very important Portuguese jazz musicians &#8211; clarinetist Paulo Gaspar and saxophonist Ricardo Toscano.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The Orchestra has released two CDs \u2013&#8221;Angrajazz Orchestra with Paula Oliveira&#8221; (2006) and \u201cAngrajazz\u201d (2018).<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>In this 24\u00b0 Angrajazz, continuing the work developed last year, the Orchestra will present a repertoire dedicated again to the Hard Bop, this time featuring a guest \u2013 the vibraphonist Jeffery Davis.\u00a0 This subgenre of Jazz, which had its prime time between the mid-50s and mid-60s of last century, is an extension of Bebop music. \u00a0Journalists and record companies began using the term Hard Bop to describe a new current within Jazz that incorporated influences from Rhythm n\u2019 Blues, Blues and Gospel, and is characterized by slow and medium rhythms, simple, lyrical and memorable melodies.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Jeffery Davis <\/strong>was born in Canada in 1981 and has lived in Portugal since 1985.\u00a0 After having attended the Gulbenkian Conservatory, in Aveiro, and a summer course at Berklee College of Music, USA, he joined the ESMAE &#8211; Escola Superior de M\u00fasica e Artes do Espect\u00e1culo, in Porto.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>In 2002, he won first prize at the Concours International de Jazz in Paris, winning a scholarship to attend the course at Berklee College of Music.\u00a0 Also in 2002 he concluded ESMAE, with the maximum grade.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>In 2003 he started the course of Jazz Performance Vibraphone, at Berklee College of Music, which he finishes in 2006, with distinction.\u00a0 He won numerous awards from Berklee, and receives the International Association for Jazz Education Award for Outstanding Musicianship.\u00a0 In the USA he has the opportunity to work with several jazz musicians such as Joe Lovano, Gary Burton, Dave Liebman, Terrence Blanchard, Michel Camilo, Steve Swallow, Bob Mintzer; Vitor Mendoza, among others.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>He has several CDs edited, and has performed solo recitals and concerts for vibraphone and orchestra throughout the country.\u00a0 He is a composer in both jazz and classical music.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"color\"><color:#E8510B>Members<\/span><\/h2>\n[\/vc_column_text][vc_row_inner css=&#8221;.vc_custom_1631497340663{margin-top: 15px !important;}&#8221;][vc_column_inner width=&#8221;1\/3&#8243;][vc_column_text]<strong>Claus Nymark<\/strong>\u00a0.
